Lorain County Young Life Needs Your Help



God is doing big things in Lorain County every day and the future is exciting. Leaders are stepping into students’ lives and caring for them and pointing them to a greater hope, Jesus.  They volunteer their time to be at games, coach sports, be at the school, invite students into their homes, get food with them, and tell them about the greatest love story of all time.  Our area is in need of more teammates to fund the mission so that our prayerful vision can come to fruition!

Celebrate and Dream With Us
The mission in LoCo is currently in Avon Lake HS, Avon HS, Avon MS, and at Lorain County Community College.  In addition, we have a joint Cleveland Metro Capernaum club (our ministry to students with special needs). We hope to continue to build up these ministries, adding new leaders as they are trained and placed. We are so thankful and excited by what the Lord is doing in these towns and ministries. There is still so much more to do!

Our vision for the next 3-5 years is big and we need your help.  We have been connecting with people in different communities and are on the verge of being able to move into some new places. We aim to start YoungLives, serving teen moms, in Lorain and Elyria. We have been talking with a Pregnancy Center who cannot wait to partner and reach these teenagers. We also hope to start Multi-Cultural Clubs in Lorain and Elyria. We also hope to restart ministry at Brookside HS.

Many students throughout Lorain County have not heard of the life-changing truth of a relationship with the Heavenly Father. I want to share with you a video of a spoken word performed by a few of my wife’s students at Horizon Science Academy in Lorain. They do not have a relationship with their earthly father, but they know of the hope and greatness of the Heavenly Father, the God of the universe who came to love us and sacrificed for us. While these few awe-inspiring folks know this, there are so many more students who have never even heard of a Father who came to love them and be relationship with them.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Students from all around NE Ohio at Fall Weekend at Camp Fitch during club We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and we wanted to share how thankful we are! There are so many things we are thankful for in Lorain County Young Life. We wanted to spotlight just what the Lord did at our annual fundraising Banquet and our Fall Weekend trip with high school students. Banquet Recap             The 2018 Lorain County Banquet was a great success and it couldn't have happened without our great committee & sponsors. We had a room full of adults who care about young people being loved and told about the greatest news that can be told, Jesus Christ and His desire for us. Young Life Lorain County Continues it's Mission

The Mission Continues      In the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic so many things about everyday life have changed and Young Life has not been immune to the hurdles the outbreak has created. While we have made adjustments for the safety and well-being of students and leaders in complying with the state and federal standards, we have not stopped in the intentional pursuit of our mission to "introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith." One of our first Zoom Clubs  Pressing On     Here are some of the things we are doing to press on and make the most of what God is doing: Weekly Leadership meeting. A time to pour into and check on our leaders as well as creatively collaborate on some of the best ways to reach and care for kids. Weekly Campaigner Bible studies on Zoom. 5 Years & Fiscal Year End

     It has been 5 YEARS since we took the plunge into the call God had before us, going on staff full time in Lorain County, Ohio. He has grown and changed me and Megan so much through the past 5 years and our family! We packed up our cars and our brand new puppy, Kota, and drove out to Cleveland unsure of what the Lord really had in store for us. From the time we got hired to our first 3 months, we went from 3 staff in the area to just me. I was hired to be in the area under an Area Director and upon arriving that role was vacant. God stretched us and graciously led us to step into that role as we learned on the run. We have faced a lot of turns like that in our time here but God has been faithful to provide a way. Our family has also radically changed. We are now blessed to have our two boys! Aiden is 3 years old and Fin is 7 months old.
